Western Lights Festival
From pilot program to civic catalyst.
I helped launch Reno’s premier illuminated art festival and guide its evolution from a City experiment into an emerging cultural institution. In two years, Western Lights has featured more than 90 large-scale artworks and welcomed more than 120,000 attendees to an underinvested part of our downtown core, and positioned light art as a tool for belonging and economic revitalization. My role spans vision, governance design, fundraising strategy, sponsorship development, and coalition-building – aligning artists, civic leaders, donors, and community partners around a shared vision for the future of Western Lights and downtown Reno.

During more than a decade in executive leadership, I helped steward one of the world’s most complex cultural movements through institutional growth and global visibility. I led communications, crisis strategy, and brand evolution during periods of scrutiny and expansion, building systems that strengthened transparency and resilience while protecting cultural integrity.

I support executive positioning and brand strategy for a fast-growing international education and hospitality company operating in eight countries and across three continents. My work aligns founders, educators, and marketing teams around a coherent global story, strengthening thought leadership, award strategy, and multi-market positioning while preserving mission clarity.
London School of Economics & NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate
Aligning arts, real estate, and equitable development.
Through my Executive Master’s Urban Consultancy at LSE, in partnership with NYU’s Urban Lab and the Urban Land Institute, I analyzed the creative placemaking field across 14 leader interviews and 56 texts. The result: a strategic roadmap to reduce stakeholder misalignment, embed equity, strengthen outcomes measurement, and better integrate arts and culture into real estate and economic development strategy.
